Unexpected, But Wonderful!

I know I'm a few days late, but I finally got some pictures up of our unexpected early arrival of Makayla. For those who don't know the story, I'll try to sum it up real quick. I had a routine appointment on July 1st and was told that I had been measuring a bit small so I got an ultrasound done. Unfortunately, it looked like Makayla had stopped growing and only weighed 5 1/2 lbs. at me being 38 weeks, but measuring 34. We were all worried that she wasn't getting the food she needed and so they decided to induce me. To our surprise and relief, everything went very smoothly with my labor and Makayla came out a healthy 6 lbs. 10 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long! Everything was okay with her and me and we were able to bring her home the next day. Needless to say I was so relieved after being so worried and stressed the previous few days. We're so blessed and grateful to have Makayla in our lives now, even if it was a couple weeks early! No complaints! She is a wonderful and sweet baby girl!

New Arrival!

Our sweet new baby girl Makayla!
Here's Steven with 2 of his favorite girls! So cute!

When Lilly first came in the room after I had Makayla, she wouldn't come near me. I think me being hooked up to a bunch of machines might have freaked her out. But once I got my food, she was more than willing to come close enough to share some of my fries and cake. I was able to sneak in a kiss!

Here's our new family!

Since I knew I was getting induced, I was able to make myself look decent before having the baby. I didn't look too bad afterwards...a lot better than my last time with Lilly! :)

Here's our new girl right after coming out! She came out crying with a good set of lungs!

A New Year!

I think one of my resolutions this year should be to keep up with my blog! I got really excited to start it and then I really slacked on keeping up with it. New year, new goals right? The May family is doing well. Steven is enjoying his now full-time job with Northwestern Mutual, especially since he is now graduated! Yea! I am still going to school, just a couple of classes. Lilly is doing great and growing so fast! She's adorable and we love spending time with her and seeing her learn new things. She knows some animal noises when we ask her, such as "What does a puppy say?" She then says, "Woof, woof," and then goes along with a few other animals. Steven thought it would be funny to teach her what Mommy says, which, according to him, is "No, no." She knows that one just as well as the animal noises that she does. He likes to show people the "cute" thing he taught her.
